IRA
Boost your support by giving a qualified charitable distribution (QCD) or “IRA charitable rollover” from your Individual Retirement Account (IRA). Donors age 70 ½ and older may distribute an amount, not to exceed $100,000 in a calendar year, from an IRA to Saint Mary tax-free.
Contact your IRA administrator to donate today. Gifts should be sent directly from your IRA administrator to:
University of Saint Mary
Advancement
4100 S. 4th Street
Leavenworth, KS 66048
Fed Tax ID#:48-0547846
Giving via your IRA does not qualify as charitable deduction, but your donation benefits USM and does not count towards your taxable income.
You must be age 70 ½ or older at the time.
For those age 72 and older, this distribution counts toward your required minimum distribution (RMD) without counting towards your taxable income.
To ensure proper crediting, please notify Director of Advancement Kylie Adams at kylie.adams@stmary.edu or 913-758-6219.
Consider making the University of Saint Mary a beneficiary of your IRA account. Ask for the “change of beneficiary” form:

The following transfers will not qualify: distributions to private foundations, to donor advised funds, for life income gifts (e.g., charitable remainder trusts), and for any purpose that entitles you to receive a benefit, such as seating at athletic events or tickets to a dinner such as SpireFest.
