(Leavenworth, Kansas) – The University of Saint Mary will host its Fall Band Concert “Refocus: A Journey Through American Folk Songs” at 7 p.m. on Oct. 14 in Xavier Theatre on USM’s Main Campus in Leavenworth – 4100 South 4th Street.
 
The Community Band will perform compositions from Gustav Holst, Andrew Boysen, and Johann Sebastian Bach. USM will also premiere “Refocus,” an original piece from Raymond J. Horvat, a local composer, conductor, trumpet player, and music educator who is pursuing a master’s in music theory at Boston University.
 
The concert is free and open to the public. It will be livestreamed via the USM – Music Facebook Page.
 
The University Band is under the direction of Dr. David N. Vance.
