What have you been up to since graduating from Saint Mary?
Since graduating from Saint Mary, I've transitioned my competitive drive and work ethic from the basketball court into the automotive industry. Throughout that journey, I've continued to grow both professionally and personally, becoming a better man and leader.
What is your current job or role, and what do you enjoy most about it?
Today, I serve as the Variable Sales and Finance Manager at McCarthy Hyundai of Lawrence, part of the McCarthy Auto Group. I'm grateful for the opportunities I've earned and excited to continue growing, embracing new challenges, and becoming a stronger leader every day.
How did your time at Saint Mary prepare you for your career?
The discipline, accountability, and teamwork basketball instilled in me have played a major role in my success.
What is a memorable experience you had during your time at Saint Mary?
One of my most memorable experiences at Saint Mary was winning the KCAC Conference Championship alongside our core group of guys during my senior year. On a personal level, I was incredibly blessed to be named KCAC Player of the Year and earn All-American honors. Those individual accolades meant a great deal to me, but sharing a conference championship with my teammates made that senior season truly special.
What advice would you give to current students or recent graduates?
My advice is simple: Nobody cares, work harder. Life won't always go according to your plan, but trust that God has a greater one for you. Keep your faith strong, stay disciplined, and never allow failure to become an option. Trust Him to guide your path, and never stop working toward the goals you've set for yourself.
What hobbies or interests are you currently pursuing?
I've picked up a passion for golf and try to get out on the course 2–3 times a week whenever my busy work schedule allows. My ultimate goal is to become a scratch golfer. I'm currently sitting at a 6.5 handicap, so I've still got some work to do! I guess that competitive drive from basketball never really goes away!
