What have you been up to since graduating from Saint Mary?
Since graduating in 2016, I’ve been working in my dream role as a college Cross Country and Track & Field coach while raising a family. My wife, also a 2016 Saint Mary graduate from the Stefani Doctorate of Physical Therapy program, and I now have a three‑year‑old son named Asher.
What is your current job or role, and what do you enjoy most about it?
I serve as the Head Cross Country and Track & Field Coach at the University of Saint Mary. What I enjoy most is helping young adults discover how capable and special they truly are. Watching them fully commit to a challenge and experience the success that follows is incredibly rewarding.
How did your time at Saint Mary prepare you for your career?
The MBA program with an emphasis in leadership challenged me in ways that reshaped how I think, process information, and approach problem‑solving. Education is more than content – it’s the growth that comes from being pushed. That experience prepared me well for the demands of coaching and leadership.
What is a memorable experience you had during your time at Saint Mary?
One of the most meaningful parts of my Saint Mary experience was the genuine care shown by Sister Diane. Her leadership and compassion made a lasting impact on me. Knowing that the person guiding the university truly cares created an environment I looked forward to being part of every day.
Have you stayed in touch with any of your professors or classmates?
Yes, I’ve stayed connected with several friends I met along the way. I always enjoy catching up with them at alumni events when our schedules align.
What advice would you give to current students or recent graduates?
Stay passionate about what you’re doing. When you lead with passion, you’ll make the impact you’re striving for.
How do you stay connected with the Saint Mary alumni network?
I stay connected primarily by attending alumni events and engaging with the community whenever I can.
What hobbies or interests are you currently pursuing?
I’m fortunate that my career is also my hobby. Not many people get to say that. Outside of coaching, I love spending time with my family. Beyond that, being able to stay involved in the sport I loved growing up is something I’m grateful for every day.
Do you have any favorite Saint Mary traditions that you still cherish?
Rather than a specific tradition, what I cherish most is being on campus and talking with students about their dreams and goals. Saint Mary is a place dedicated to helping students reach their God‑given potential, and being part of that growth – both as a student and now as a coach – is something I’ll always value.
