If you’re looking for fun and friendly competition, USM Recreation Services has just what you need.


At USM Recreation Services offers students the opportunity to get in shape, compete, or just have fun in a safe, friendly environment. Our goal: to provide a fun, social and educational experience. We hope there is a sport or activity that appeals to every USM student.

Our Recreation Services and Intramural team will organize competition according to activity, and skill level – from team and singles competition to organized team tournaments. We also offer our indoor swimming pool, open year-round, Tuesday and Thursday evenings 6:30 – 10:30 p.m. For More information regarding the pool, please contact Janet Loewenstein the Aquatics Director at 6622.

Most activities run throughout the academic school year. Past events include:
 

  • 3 vs. 3 basketball tournaments

  • Flag football

  • Frisbee golf tournaments

  • Golf tournaments

  • Bowling

  • Ping pong

  • Billiards

  • “Wally” ball

  • Floor hockey

  • Sand volleyball

  • Racquetball

  • Poker tournaments


Athletic rental equipment is available as well, including:
 

  • Disc Golf Discs

  • Racquetballs, rackets and goggles

  • Goggles

  • Volleyballs

  • Dodge balls

  • Billiard equipment
