Become a doctor: Start at USM, end as a D.O.
Studying biomedical sciences is one of the most unique majors at USM. Instead of completing a bachelor’s degree that will set you up for a variety of potential careers, USM’s biomedical sciences program prepares you for one career: becoming a Doctor of Osteopathy.
Instead of professional internships or practicum projects, biomedical science majors take a different path. You complete three years of study at USM, and upon finishing your junior year, you’ll receive guaranteed-acceptance into medical school at the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences (assuming you complete specific academic criteria).
At KCUMB, you’ll complete a four-year course of studies en route to becoming a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine. Following your first year at KCUMB, you’ll be awarded your bachelor’s in biomedical sciences from USM.
